4. Improving KANGYM
During the beta, we may analyze learning data to understand whether KANGYM is working effectively.
For example, we may analyze:
- Which kanji are answered incorrectly more often.
- Which stories or kanji cause more difficulty.
- How frequently users return to study.
- Whether review workloads become too large.
- Where users stop or struggle during the learning process.
- Which parts of KANGYM should be improved.
Whenever reasonably possible, this analysis is performed using aggregated or pseudonymized information rather than directly identifying individual users.
5. Legal bases for processing
The legal basis depends on why the information is being processed.
Providing KANGYM
Some processing is necessary to provide the service.

- Prevent abuse.
- Diagnose technical problems.
- Evaluate and improve the learning experience.
We only rely on legitimate interests where those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

KANGYM automatically uses your learning history to determine things such as:
- When a kanji should appear again.

Where required by applicable law, KANGYM uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
